The Day the SPX Went Dark

Mon, May 5, 2008 | Jared

Market commentary

The CBOE is apparently having some problems this morning disseminating data for their major index products, including SPX, RUT, DJX, and VIX.  These things are bound to happen from time to time, right?  No big deal, you pull up your trading platform or charts, and the product is totally dark.  As of 10:12AM EST, no data at all.

You know what names aren’t having any problems whatsoever?  The corresponding ETFs: SPY, IWM, DIA.  Just saying.
